The Nomad Philosophy

What It's All About

Welcome to the Strength Nomad site, a place for busy families to find hope, inspiration, and resources to assist them to reach their strength and fitness goals.  Life can be hectic with over committed schedules and frazzled lifestyles juggling jobs, kids, and social commitments.  With this, how can a family make time for exercise and active lives?

Despite advances in medicine, health care, and education, our families are weaker and fatter than ever.  Research from John Hopkins University suggests that by the year 2030, that 86 percent of adults in the U.S. will be overweight or obese.  If we continue on this path, the National Institute of Health forecast ALL Americans will be obese by 2230*.  As we continue to hear about exercise being removed from our kids curriculum, it is up to us as parents to lead from the front and show our kids what strong and healthy truly is.

Often, we do not have the time to load up in the car, drive over to the local gym, wait on exercise equipment, then head back to the house.  So, what do we do?  What happens many times is our health gets pushed down the priority list and we end up just skipping our workout session and scarfing down some over processed fast food.  There has to be a better way.

There is good news.  There is hope.

The World Is Our Gym

We teach people that the all around us, if they will just take notice, is a gym just waiting to be utilized.  Strength workouts can be developed by using unconventional equipment such as sandbags, cinder blocks, or kettlebells.  Developing explosive power and agility can come from jumping onto rocks, climbing trees, or sprints on the beach.  A workout can be achieved at your son's baseball game, a high rise cubicle, or in the living room after your kids are in bed.  The possibilities are endless.

Join the Movement

We want to invite you to join this movement to change the trajectory of the health of families.  Whether you decide to throw some equipment in the back of your car, bust out some pushups at the office, or just get outside and take a run through the woods, we invite you to join the conversation.  Leave comments. Connect with us on Facebook and Twitter.  Let's make an impact together.
